Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina Athletics marketing and video operations claimed its first-ever National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) “Best Of” award for the 2020-21 academic year. The announcement was made as a part of a virtual awards ceremony this week by NACMA.
Western Carolina earned a bronze Best of Award in the category of digital video segment for its coaches’ edition of the “Yeah, Whee Miss Sports, Too” video. Comprised of video segments submitted by each of WCU’s head coaches early in the COVID-19 pandemic, the video centered around each coach finding new ways to coach while collegiate athletics were shut down.
WCU also had video submission promoting the “Whee Are One” campaign which was a national finalist in the revenue-producing video category which came down to a popular-vote by current NACMA members.
Initiated in 2003, the NACMA “Best Of” Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 16 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. WCU’s video was selected from over 700 submissions nationally this year.
